Okhla The Oldest City With Its Treasures

Jamia Nagar is a locality in a North-East Delhi city in Delhi State, India. It’s postal head office is Zakir Nagar. This place is also called as Okhla and it’s nearby industrial area is Okhla Industrial Area (OIA). It is one of the most oldest villages in Delhi located on the banks of the river Yamuna. The Okhla Barrage was developed in the early 1874 by the british people.

Okhla Industrial Estate is one of the 12 industrial estates which was developed in several parts of our country to encourage the growth and development of small scale industries. The construction of this place started in 1952 and started it’s action from the year 1958. Today this area is divided into three different parts. Okhla also has an extensive residential areas which includes Zakir Nagar, Batla House, Jogabai and Jogabai Extension. Almong the 28 industrial areas of Delhi, Okhla is notified as one. The industries that exist in this region are ready-made garments, leather handicrafts, pharmaceutical units, packaging industries, printing counters, call centres, MNCs office, banks and many others.

It covers an area of about 110 acres. It has a high mass of muslim populations areas of Delhi. The literacy rate of this place is quite high and commendable. It is a major part of the State Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. Jamia Nagar Delhi where during the month of September many migrating birds visit. Tourists mainly nature lovers from different places come to see this beauty.
