This is something that is not hard to find, and you can pick it up at just about any local store. It comes in a few different forms like rat pellets and in a block form. People do not suggest using rat poison if you have small kids or other animals in the house. If the poison is going to be used in a place where others cannot get to it, then you will be fine, otherwise, a rat trap could be the way to go.

After choosing what kind of rats pest control you want to use, you have to come up with a way to bait the rat to the trap. The first tip is to eliminate all other forums of food that the rat can get to. In other words, make sure all food is properly stored. If using food to bait the rat, be sure to place the food about 15 to 50 feet in between pieces. This may seem like a lot, but rats are great at tracking down food. If you use too much bait, then the rat will get full before making it to the trap. Another tip that you cannot forget is to never move your trap after placing it. A lot of rats have a fear of moved objects, thus, if you move the trap after the rat has seen it, then it is going to try it's best to stay away from it. That kind of defeats the whole point of setting the trap in the first place.
